The essence of the new dynamic visual identity aims at creating different design facets between the recognizability of the Burg as an institution and making its individual art and design personalities visible. This is achieved by means of a modular system composed of permanent and changing elements that can be combined in a playful way: the Burg logo and the word mark of the university’s name in German and in English, the Burg letters, the fonts Minion and Burg Grotesk, a broad range of matching colours, a specially designed font of symbols and the addition of a congenial atmospheric photograph. The visual style moves between tradition and modernism, between functional and experimental application.
